Sample Lesson - Shelter Building

Traditional Shelter Building

Students create shelters inspired by traditional shelters made by the Aboriginal Peoples. Students draw their designs and explain why they will stop wind or rain. Using natural materials, string and 3D shape designs, students construct their shelters. When shelters are constructed test to see if they stay standing against wind or rain.
