Landscapes are similar and different - Stage 2 Geography

Explore the rich and varied landscapes of the Gol Gol region. Examine the features and characteristics of the natural environment of this region of Australia. Students learn about what living things need to survive and how they interact and rely on specific natural environments for their survival. Students will compare and contrast environments and their features and how animals and plants rely on these landscapes to survive.

  • How do different views about the environment influence approaches to sustainability?

  • How can people use places and environments more sustainably?

 

Outcomes:

GE2 1: Examines features and characteristics of places and environments 

GE2 2: Describes the ways people, places and environments interact 

GE2 4: Acquires and communicates geographical information using geographical tools for inquiry 

Students will:

  • Look critically at a variety of landscape in the Gol Gol region 

  • Critically describe the feature of these landscapes

  • Examine the ways people interact with these environments and the impacts people have on these environments

  • Reflect on how people use these environments and if we are sustainable in our use of these environments
