Cultural Immersion Programs

Working alongside the Barkandji People, students will have an opportunity to experience the culture of the traditional owners of the land. Students will take part in various activities, learning about edible resources of the area, weaving and local Dreaming.

Key Inquiry Questions

  • How do the Aboriginal Peoples rely on the land?

  • How can we identify bush resources of the area?

  • How can we be respectful and look after the land?

Key syllabus Outcomes

GE3-2 explains interactions and connections between people, places and environments

GE3-3 compares and contrasts influences on the management of places and environments

GE3-1 describes the diverse features and characteristics of places and environments

Students will:

  • Learn about Bush resources of the area

  • Cook with bush foods

  • Create art, weaving using traditional methods

  • Learn local Dreaming stories
